This is one of the best condition S3 Phaetons I have seen the body work is in really good condition all apart from the dash that the previous owner had started to cut about to fit a Triumph Dolomite/2000 dash into there are no modifications to the body work at all its all standard and pretty much craze free.

I bought it as a project from a guy in Coventry who was moving house and did not have the time to finish it - The back end had been five linked with rose joints and the front end fitted with Cortina uprights and a double wishbone suspension system in place of the Dutton type of Ford Escort modified components. It also had a brand new set of Spax adjustable coil-overs (Westfield), Stainless braided brake hoses, Wolfrace alloys.

This car was purchased to be fitted with a Hot Rod spec 1660 "Kent" cross flow engine that I had picked up on the Locost group, with the idea that I would do some Sprints and Hillclimbs with it, but with the purchase of the V8 series 1 which has a much better spec for the task this car is being mothballed at the local farm until I decide its fate.

August 2004 - Its fate was sealed with the purchase of the B+ something had to give as 4 Duttons was too many so the car was sold to Dutton Owners Club member Pete Belton but work had progressed far enough for me to have at least driven it to the end of the driveway. 6 months or so later on Pete had to admit defeat with a chance of personal circumstances so e-bay was called upon and the car moved on to another new owner.

The carbs and manifold made there way onto Sean's S2 together with the rocker cover and the front suspension was used on my S4 and the S3 converted back to the standard Dutton set up.

I hope that Q93 WET eventually makes it back on the road and if the new owner finds this site they get in touch.
